1867 Rebellion & Confederation

Date: September 12 - December 9, 2016

Time: Open during hours of operation.

Details: Confederation, proclaimed on July 1, 1867, was the culmination of a 30-year journey, from aspirations of autonomy to the birth of modern Canada. The exhibition 1867 - Rebellion and Confederation is structured around significant milestones, turning points and trends along the way, while highlighting key personalities involved in our development as a Nation. Fall Rendezvous - 4 Day Festival

Date: September 28 - October 1, 2016 (Culture Days - September 30 & October 1)

Time: 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Open Daily), Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 (Evening Spirit Walks)

Details: 1812-1867 Historical Encampments, British Soldiers, Voyageurs & Coureur de Bois, hands-on activities and demonstrations! Food, fun, and the candy cannon! Call for more info 705.759.5443. For Teacher's Package see below.

Spirits Steeped in Stone - Ghost Walks

Date: Family - September 30, Adults - October 1

Time: Walks begin at 7 p.m. / every half hour

Details: Pre-purchase tickets at ECNHS. Call 705.759.5443 for more information.

Tickets: Family (Sept. 30) - $5/person. Adults (Oct. 1) - $20/person includes beverage & snacks.

Culture Days

Date: September 30 - October 1

Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Details: Sesquicentennial scavenger hunt, heritage textile demonstrations, candle making, basket making, popcorn, Turkish marbling demonstration, candy cannon, and more! View the below poster for schedule. For further details call 705.759.5443.

Fall Rendezvous / Fall Festival Education Days

Teacher's Package

Teachers: This is an intensive two hour curriculum program for grade 6, 7, and 8. Twelve stations with re-enactors who will have your students join the 1812 Militia, learn about the Coureur du Bois & Voyageurs, explore 1867 Rebellion & Confederation, learn the local Aboriginal & M├ętis connections, and the development of Canada. As the 1812 Cannon fires each class will move from station to station.
