#activeSault Presents: Get Out, Get Active at Clergue Park

Outdoor fitness equipment has been installed at Clergue Park as part of the #activeSault initiative to get people out and moving. The new equipment will be showcased Friday, August 26 at a grand opening event.

Health and wellness groups will be on site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to lead fitness classes using the new equipment and provide information for various health and wellness programs. At noon, Councillor Steve Butland will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the fitness area.

The public is invited to Clergue Park to participate in the fitness classes and learn more about health and wellness opportunities in the Sault.

This is a free public event - all ages are welcome.

"#activesault is a City of Sault Ste. Marie program focusing on assisting people of all ages and abilities get active, stay fit and live a healthier life," says Program Coordinator Jen Amadio. "I look forward to building the frame work to enhance existing programs and develop community partnerships that will result in more opportunities for citizens to participate in activities of their choice that are both affordable and accessible."

This initiative was made possible through grant funding received from the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport - Ontario Sport and Recreation Communities Fund.
