In order to raise campaign funds or incur campaign expenses a candidate must first be nominated.

Nomination Papers are available through this website or at the Clerk's Department, Level 4, Civic Centre. Nominations may be filed in person or through an agent with the City Clerk on or after January 4, 2010 (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) up to and including Nomination Day,  Friday, September 10, 2010 (9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.)

Each Nomination Paper must be accompanied by cash or a certified cheque or money order in the amount of $200 for the office of Mayor, $100 for all other positions. This filing fee will be returned to the candidate following the election provided that he or she has obtained more than 2% of the votes cast for that office or in the event that the candidate withdraws the nomination on or before 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010.
