COVID-19 update on City services

Thursday, March 3, 2022

Effective March 1, 2022, the City of Sault Ste. Marie joins the Province of Ontario in easing further COVID restrictions in alignment with new public health measures. Indoor capacity limits will be lifted and visitors entering City facilities will no longer require Proof of Vaccination. Other protective measures such as the requirement to wear a mask and active/passive screening of customers will continue to be in place.

While the City is lifting restrictions to align with the Province of Ontario, the prevalence of the COVID virus, as measured in wastewater sampling at the East End Water Treatment Plant, indicates higher numbers than at any point in the last year in the 7-day moving average. All City facilities will continue to operate under the recommended health and safety measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 and for the safety of facility patrons and City staff.

Due to the rapidly changing nature of the pandemic, services are subject to ongoing assessment and potential change. For the most current information, updates will be posted to the City’s website at: saultstemarie.ca/covid19 and on social media.
