Scale upgrades at City’s landfill to improve load efficiency

Public Works and Engineering Services informs customers to expect delays at the landfill next week as essential scale maintenance work begins. Beginning Monday, October 16 maintenance work commences on landfill scales aimed at improving the efficiency and accuracy of loads.
The scheduled upgrade is expected to take approximately four days, with completion anticipated by October 19. During this time, one scale at a time will be operating, which may result in delays when processing customers into and out of the landfill, particularly during periods of higher traffic volumes.
Staff will assist with traffic flow and ensure that the upgrade process runs as smoothly as possible. The City of Sault Ste. Marie thanks its customers for their understanding during this time.
